Disability Awareness

ADA Trainer Network
Using curriculum designed by the Employment and Disability Institute at Cornell University, Kevin is part of the training network of the Disability Business Technical Assistance Center, Northwest and the University of Washington.

Nine programs are offered each designed to last about 2.5 hours. Using an interactive style along with audio and video clips, participants will garner a unique understanding of the basis of the Americans with Disabilities Act and how it can play out as a positive for everyone.

Windmills
As a Windmills trainer, Kevin will bring this high-impact attitudinal training program to you that integrates disability into the spectrum of diversity awareness. Developed in a partnership with the California Governor’s Committee in 1985, this program has become an outstanding and effective tool, used worldwide to open minds and change attitudes of employers and employees about people with disabilities. Revised in 2009, Windmills continues to be an exciting training experience.

Transit Agencies
Who better to train your staff then one who lives each day with his own personal, “Ticket to Dignity” as Kevin calls transit. Easter Seals Project ACTION told Kevin’s pungent story in their publication, Stories of Changed Lives: The Personal Impact of Transportation Access. CTAA in their publication, Community Transportation retold the story of how this man once again regained his independence, dignity and indeed, his life because of public transportation. Kevin represents those we serve every day – those with obvious disabilities and those with hidden disabilities. The ADA comes alive when Kevin speaks about, “Working from the Heart!”
